Let Girls Play Ottawa
Let Girls Play Ottawa:
The initiative aims to provide equal access to soccer for girls in high-priority neighborhoods across Ottawa, enhancing their physical, mental, and social well-being through sports. This program addresses the significant barriers girls face in sports participation, particularly in low-income, Black, racialized, and immigrant communities. Challenges include socio-economic constraints, cultural norms, and lack of resources. ANYO’s mobile soccer clinics bring the sport directly to these neighborhoods, overcoming logistical hurdles and ensuring girls have the opportunity to engage in soccer. The initiative aims to reduce the dropout rate among girls in sports and promote inclusivity, emphasizing the importance of sports for physical health, mental well-being, and social skills development.
- Objective: Provide equal access to soccer for girls in high-priority neighborhoods across Ottawa, enhancing their physical, mental, and social well-being.
